History

For over 25 years, Rick Palleschi has owned and worked on boats, including his Cal 39, Shanty Irish. An electrical engineer and graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Rick was fortunate enough to be able to leave his career early.

Rick's passion for being on the water and his vast knowledge of boats inspired him to start his own business at the beginning of 2003. To get his feet wet and gain a better understanding of the business, he worked as a subcontractor for some major rigging companies in the Annapolis area all of last year. Rick installed deck hardware, electronics, lifelines and halyards as well as furling systems and doing commissioning.

While serving as a subcontractor, Rick realized a strong demand from yacht owners looking to get "small jobs" completed in a short time frame for a "small price". That's when the idea hit!

Rick provides sailing services from deck hardware installation, running rigging, winch maintenance, splicing, discounted hardware sales, sailing instruction and much more.

Additionally, his business is offering a "Weekend Yacht Preparedness Program" (performed on Fridays, boats up to 40 feet, $75). Decks will be washed, fluid levels checked and a general inspection with a written report provided.
